Event Theme We wanted to celebrate the past at Comin’ at Cha 2010. After all, the 1910’s is the decade of the Wild Bunch (based around 1913). In reviewing recorded history from the 1910’s, we were reminded of a decade that included WWI and the first use of poison gas, the sinking of the Titanic, an influenza pandemic, and the death of “Buffalo Bill” Cody. Well, pards, we were so depressed that we decided to move on to the next decade. The 1920’s brought in the discovery of penicillin and insulin, the invention of the radio and listening to "the king of jazz" (Louie Armstrong), dancing the Charleston and Fox-trot, and of course the19th Amendment. Yep, the first 8 or so years of the 1920’s are something to celebrate so this year’s theme will be “The Roaring 20’s!”
