Dessert Cook-off in the Big Barn

Friday - November 5th

We will not be serving a meal that evening so catch one of the vendors for dinner. 
The 2010 cook-off will be "Make It, Buy It, or Steal It" Dessert Contest and the rules are listed below.

WHEN:  Have your entry in the Big Barn by 6 PM Friday

CATEGORIES:
Cakes - If you call it a cake, we will too.
Pies/Pastries - Anything with a crust including cobblers, mud pies, etc.
Pieces - Bite size sweets including brownies, candies, and cookies.

RULES: Make It, Buy It, or Steal It
Make It - Make your own dessert
Buy It - Bring a dessert you purchased from a store/bakery
Steal It - If you should happen to find it on a window sill cooling...

DON'T FORGET:
Bring a serving utensil if your desert needs one.
Pick up your dish before you leave the barn that evening.
We will NOT have electricity to keep desserts hot so keep that in mind when planning your entry.

PRIZES:
$100 for 1st place in each category
(Only 1st place awarded per category)

SPECIAL AWARDS:
Win two categories, $50 bonus. ($250 total)
Win all three categories, $100 bonus.  ($400 total)

JUDGES:
Judges will be special guests from the Culinary Institute from Texarkana.
